B
Body Oil
Body oil is a body care product composed of nourishing, protective, and hydrating oils that quickly absorb into the skin. These lightweight body oils are designed to leave the skin soft, smooth, and moisturized, even for those with dry skin.
E
Eau de Parfum (EdP)
The Eau de Parfum (EdP) can be seen as a happy medium between a potent, long-lasting fragrance and the need for consideration in close-quarters interactions. It allows you to smell good for yourself and others without overwhelming anyone. The fragrance oil concentration typically falls between 15-20%, providing a lasting scent experience of 4-6 hours or more, depending on the ingredients used. EdP fragrances often contain alcohol and occasionally carrier oils. Those with sensitive skin, asthma, or migraines should approach EdP fragrances with caution, perhaps testing on clothing before a small skin application follows.
E
Eau de Toilette (EdT)
An eau de toilette (EdT) is a fragrance designed for everyday wear. Unlike more expensive perfumes, it is affordable yet still noticeable, without being overpowering. It leaves a subtle yet polished impression on those around you. Typically containing 5 to 15% fragrance oils, an EdT may last between 2 and 7 hours, depending on the oils used. The solvent for the fragrance oils is usually alcohol with a small amount of water. Individuals with sensitivities such as asthma or migraines should consider starting with an eau de toilette as a test to minimize any potential negative reactions.
F
Face Serum
A serum is a skincare product that can be applied to the skin following cleansing, but preceding moisturizing. The primary purpose of a serum is to deliver potent ingredients directly into the skin.
Different types of face serums cater to specific purposes, allowing for flexibility in application frequency. Depending on your skin's individual needs, you may opt to use a serum either 2-3 times a week or daily.
Regardless of the situation, it is crucial to consistently monitor your skin's condition to determine if it is improving or worsening. Another important aspect to consider in skincare is the environmental factors, such as polluted air and prolonged exposure to low humidity.
P
Parfum (P)
A classic perfume (P), often referred to as the "master class" of all fragrances, contains the highest proportion of fragrance oils ranging between 15% and 40%. Individuals with sensitive skin should opt for eau de parfum or other less concentrated perfumes instead of using perfume. Perfume can be formulated with a neutral carrier oil, solid wax mixture, or alcohol as a solvent for fragrance oils. The scent intensity of classic perfume is the strongest compared to other types of perfumes, lasting for more than 24 hours. Individuals with asthma or prone to migraines are advised to avoid using classic perfume and opt for less potent alternatives.
